Can Anyone Recommend A Good Dog Breed For Me?
Monday, January 18th, 2010Obviously finding a mongrel with the right temprament is hard so I leave it up to you to choose a breed:
I need something medium/ large size, preferably shorter furred as we live in a wet, muddy area of the country. It needs to be quiet but able to bark the house down when needs be. A good walker but mustn’t pull the walker along with it.
I also need something that will be a good family dog in a smaller house but will also be willing to do ‘guard’ duty when I am away (my mother is infirm and a sentinel with a nice set of gnashers would help put her at ease).
Anything fit the bill? I’m looknig for something a little less docile that a Dobermann but more aggressive than a Shitzu!

PS, I realise that a lot of these traits are down to individual dogs but a generalisation would be nice! Also would gender matter in these circumstances?

Saturday, January 16th, 2010I want a small dog for Christmas, that is of course a puppy when I get it. Anyway from what I tell you, what small dog would fit me best?
I like dogs that would like me best, but still be friendly to other people. Like a one person dog.
I like dogs that crave much attention from there owners.
I do NOT like loud dogs.
And I have school from 8:30-3:30. My mom & dog have work. Would the small dog be okay inside for hours?

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010I have previously owned a giant breed dog (bullmastiff). Currently I have a Jack Russell Terrier but I am wanting to get another large dog again. I love the mastiff but I would like a breed with less drool. I know there are various mastiffs but I am not certain if they all have that problem or not. Any suggestions on breeds I should research?

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010I had one before but they spent more time snooping and stealing than cleaning. I need one that can come in once a week and handle some serious cleaning. There’s me, my teenage son and an indoor dog living here, it looks more like a frat house than a home( I think there’s a sink under that pile of dishes). Anyone know of one?

Doesn’t shed too much*
Is usually good with small children*
Doesn’t require too much exercise
I know a lot of them aren’t good with these requirements but these are my favorite breeds and I wanted to know which matched best. Thanks
