Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010Stupid Youtube! Why did I watch this!? I just watched a video about animal slaughter of dogs and cats in China. There was a short section of cats being boiled alive in a bag and also a dog that had been skinned alive lying on a pile of dog bodies. It raises it’s head and blinks, looking at everything and then flops it’s skinned, lipless head down, still alive…. I don’t get queasy easily. I’ve worked in a vet clinic, I’ve seen gore and pus and body parts not arranged correctly and animals in pain…but I’ve never seen anything like this. I’ve thrown up 3 times in the last hour and I can’t get that picture out of my head. Don’t tell me that worse things happen to ppl b/c that’s a given. It just makes me feel like ppl are some awful mammal version of cockroaches and that we deserve our destruction. Running to bathroom, again..How do I forget this? How do I make this stop?! I’m only one…

Most Recent Dog Breeds?
Saturday, February 13th, 2010I know most of the common dog breeds where established a number or decades- even centuries- ago, but what are some of the most recent breeds? Like those formed/’finished’ in the last twenty or so years?
And I’m not necessarily looking for ones that have been recognized by a kennel or something. For example, I heard about a man in Russia who, over the course of many years, created his own breed to use as drug-sniffing dogs by mixing a large number of breeds.
On the other hand, I’m not talking about designer dogs either. I’m talking about breeds that are significantly different than whatever breeds they were formed from, and have their own name.
I hope that kind of made sense x3
And out of curiosity, are there any breeds currently being developed somewhere?
(As a side note- this question is purely out of genuine curiosity. I’m not looking to create a breed or something.)
