What are your favorite dog breeds and why? Mine are Doberman Pinschers because they are so beautiful. I only like the natural ones though (long tail and floppy ears). I also like Bloodhounds because the are so sweet and slobby! Papillons and Miniature Schnauzers are my other two favorites because the are so cute! I love Papillon ears (up or down). They look like they can fly away! Miniature Schnauzers are so cute and scruffy. I only like when their tails are kept long and their ears aren’t cropped though. I think cropping and docking are cruel!

Monday, February 22nd, 2010Favorite is hands down the German Shepherd Dog. Beauty is a given with them but they’re also loyal, intelligent, protective, versatile, friendly (if somewhat aloof with strangers), and just plain good dogs. I could go on for hours about them and often do until I see that glazed look in a person’s eyes. LOL Dobermans and Siberian Huskies are great too but they just don’t fit my lifestyle or personality.
I don’t really care for toy/small breeds. I like a dog I can get down and wrestle with without fear of hurting it. I also can’t stand their barks. I like big booming barks, not small, high-pitched, or yappy barks. I like that I don’t have to worry about my large dogs being killed by a hawk or something like that whereas with a 3 lb chihuahua, that could be an issue. The exception is the Swedish Vallhund which is fairly small (around 30 lbs) but they look and act like small German Shepherd Dogs so I can’t help but love them. I’m not too big a fan of longcoats in any breed but I also don’t like extremely short coats. Any of these types of dogs are fine if someone else owns them. I just don’t care to have them.

What Is Your Favorite Time Of Day With Your Dog?
Friday, February 5th, 2010Title says it all. Is there a special time of day for interaction that is something you look forward to?
Mine is bedtime. We all have a little playtime when we pile in bed. The Pap puppy Bunny climbs all over me and the Setters, giving us all kisses, chases my hand under the covers and even gets the grumpy old lady Pap, Cricket to play tug. We all have hugs & snuggles before I turn the light out.
I look forward to that little bit of love & playtime all day! It brightens up even the worst of days.
