I’m looking for a small, short-haired, easy to maintain breed. My is yard small-medium and is fenced in from all sides. I have a fixed male Miniature Pincher who is 7 years old and has been an only dog since we adopted him at 4-6 months.
I plan on getting a female puppy, because I believe he would get along well with a smaller dog and females are generally less aggressive.
I don’t think I want a chihuahua or daschund.
Any suggestions?
I always recommend French Bulldogs, I know you’re not a first time dog owner, but they are great for 1st time owners. They are very easy to handle. they love everyone, they are sweet, cuddly, gentle, affectionate, clownish, playful. They really are great dogs.
I would say a Chihuahua
Westie
Another min pin.
An adopted mutt. (petfinder.com)
Jack Russell
Rat Terrier
Pugs are adorable.
Jack Russels have alot of energy so that may not be the best choice for your older min pin. I love French Bulldogs & Boston Terriers
West Highland White terrier
Yorkshire Terrier
Toy Fox Terrier
PUGGLES
Boston Terriers are really popular around my neighborhood.
You could always look at your local animal shelter for a puppy or a small full grown dog. If you are looking to buy a pure breed then you could look into some terriers like the Fox Terrier or a Jack Russell Terrier.
why not get a beagle? they’re beautiful and friendly, they love playing with other dogs and are not aggressive!
Hi,
You may want to consider a “Coton de Tulear”, they are affectionate, funny, get along well with other dogs and easy to groom.
Check out this link to get to know this breed:http://dogtime.com/coton-de-tulear.html
Pugs, Boston Terriers, and French Bulldogs are all easy to train, short haired small breeds that tend to get along well with other dogs.
Good Luck!
Vintage Collies
do your research.
there are some breeds where the FEMALES are the more aggressive and territorial ones.
why not get another min pin?
Basset Hound, Blue Heeler, Min Beagle. There all so cute and absoulotly non – aggressive
westies are great dogs. but because your other dog is male get a female. if you have 2 males or 2 females they can become dominate and agressive.
A really good breed, would be the pembroke welsh corgi. I also have an older male dog, 10 years, and i bought one, a girl for companionship for him. They are really adorable dogs, very easy to train, very intelligent, have great personalities, get along with other animals, and are short haired, however they have an under coat and shed a lot.
I think you should buy a Yorkshire terrier. They are small dogs, and their coats wont be long if u cut them. They weigh about 4-7 pounds. They are also very CUTE! I used to have 2 one girl, Autumn, and one boy, Bentley. Their attitudes depend on which dog u buy. Almost all get along with other dogs. oh, and did i say they r CUTE? Plus they dont need too much exercise.
